GRE Score Reports 2023
GRE checks your knowledge and proficiency in Analytical Writing, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. The official scorecard of GRE General Test displays your scores in all three areas separately, and the corresponding percentile ranks. GRE total marks or overall percentile are not mentioned in the score report. The subject test scores are given in the same scorecard, if you have opted for any.
Further, it also shows the list of score recipients you chose to send your scores to, as well as the record of your scores reported in the last five years. You can print your GRE scorecard via ETS account. The notification for the result is sent by email. Here is the link to access the result:
Understanding GRE Scores
In case of the sectionally-adaptive areas (Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning), the raw scores are calculated as per the number of correct responses, and all questions carry equal weightage. Then, these raw scores are converted to scaled scores, with an aim to adjust for variations in difficulty level among the different test versions and the difference caused by the section-level adaptation.
For Analytical Writing, your essays are reviewed by trained and experienced essay raters and an essay-similarity detection software (e-rater). If the scores assigned by the e-rater and the human rater are close enough, the average GRE score is estimated for AWA section. If there is high discrepancy in the two types of scores, a second human rater assesses the essay, and then, the final essay score is based on the average of the scores given by two human raters.
The overall score of this section is calculated as the average of scores in the two essays.
