Venn Diagram Approach

Solving syllogisms has always been a challenge. Conventional methods employed to solve syllogisms are at times laborious and confusing. As for questions having more than 2 statements, let’s say 3, 4 or 5 statements, conventional methods eat up valuable time during exams. For such challenging questions we can use Venn diagram method.
Venn diagram uses diagrammatic approach to solve complex questions. Please go through the following presentations of various statements

Here, the conclusion ‘some hills are not sofas’ is seemingly right, but simply remember the universal principle no. 2. So this cannot be true.

In this case, if you are also taking the conclusion ‘some rolls are not men’ to be true, remember the second universal principle: no negative with positive is possible.
4.OSome tins are not catsVenn-DiagramNo conclusion is possibleWith O type of statement, you cannot get any conclusion. Even you cannot make the conclusion as ‘some cats are not tins’. The representation of the main statement could be given in the following way.

Because the statement only signifies that some part of tins must be outside the circle of cats, and all the diagrams, which are representing that, are valid diagrams.
