SIMS (DEFENCE)

Popularly known as SIMS (Defence), was established in 1993 to be a Management Institute with a difference. Started to serve the noble cause of Defence Personnel, SIMS is an autonomous, non-profit Management Institute established by the Symbiosis Society.

Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM-DUAL)
Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM-PM & HRD)
Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM-Telecom Mgt. & IT)
Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM-IB)

Eligibility for all the courses:

• Open to graduate children /dependents of serving personnel / ex-servicemen from Army / Airforce / Navy / IDS ,with minimum of 50% marks from a recognised University
• Seats are available for industry sponsored candidates who may / may not be dependents of defence personnel. Graduates with minimum 50% marks must be sponsored by a company.

Selection Procedure:

• Open Merit: 80% vacancies for full time two year courses offered by SIMS, shall be allotted to dependents of Defence personnel only,strictly on merit based on their performance in the entrance examination and interviews
• Special Reservation: SIMS Management Committee in consultation with Headquarters, Southern Command shall allot 10% of vacancies as discretionary quota for sons/daughters of Defence Personnel as under:-
  • Killed in action (war, Counter Insurgency, or war like operation).
  • Disabled in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation) with more than 50 percent disability.
  • Next of kin of service personnel who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service. This would be subject to condition that the candidate meets the laid qualitative requirements and will be required to go through the selection process like other students.
• Industry Sponsored Seats: 10% vacancies are reserved for Industry sponsored candidates (any citizen) in open category.

Part-Time course:

• Diploma in Marketing Management (DMM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management (PGDPM)
• Diploma in Business Management (DBM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (PGDICT)
• Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (PGDIB)

Eligibility: Graduates of any statutory University or Diploma awarded by a recognized Board of Technical Education of State or Central Government with 1 year's of working experience shall be eligible for admission to the course DBM / DMM / PGDPM / P.G.D.C.I.T/ P.G.D.I.B. Industry sponsored students will be given preference.
