Courses Offered

Post Graduation Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM)

The Industrial Management course is designed to address the various strategic and operational issues involved in the entire value chain of an organization. The knowledge and competence of tomorrow's business leaders need systematic foundation and preparation for meet everyday challenges.

Eligibility

Admissions to Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management are open to all branches of Engineering/Technology or equivalent. The candidates must have a first class degree (55% in case of SC/ST candidates).

Work experience is given suitable weightage.

Admission Process

The entrance to this programme is through CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted jointly by IIMs, followed by a group discussion and interview of short listed candidates by the institute.

Post graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)

Eligibility


Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with minimum of 85 percentile in GATE. Admission is based on Group Discussion and Interview with appropriate weightage to GATE Score. Selection for Industry-sponsored candidates with First Class degree (55% for SC/ST candidates) in Engineering/Technology (with 2 years industry experience) is through Interview.

Admission Process

The selection criteria is based on the combination of the GATE percentile score, Group Discussion, and Interview scores with appropriate weight given for each.

Reservation of seats for PGDIM and PGDIE

Total of 90 seats for each of the programmes.15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates and 3% for Handicapped/Disabled candidates. If suitable candidates are not available, these seats will be filled up by General Category candidates.

Post Graduate Programme in Induatrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM)

Eligibility


Admission to this program is restricted to candidates with a recognized degree in Engineering and/or Technology with minimum first class marks (55% in case of SC/ST candidates). Preference will be given to Sponsored candidates.

All candidates will have to qualify through an Entrance Examination designed and administered by NITIE, followed by Group Discussion and Interview conducted by NITIE of the short listed candidates.

Seats

There are total of 30 seats, 15 for general candidates and 15 for the sponsored candidates.

Fellow Programme in Industrial Engineering

Eligibility:


Master's Degree in Engineering/Science/Business Management or Administration / Commerce / Social Sciences/Humanities (with minimum first class). The candidates should have earned their course credits by undergoing full-time course work or passed the NET or recognized equivalent examination.

Eligible candidates who pursue research as full time research scholars are classified as Direct Candidates, while those with full time employment elsewhere are classified as External Candidates.
Direct candidates are eligible for GOI Scholarship of Rs.5600/- p.m. (for Engg. Post Graduates) for the first 2 years and Rs. 6,400/- for the next 2 years and Rs.5000/- p.m. (for Non-Engg. Post Graduates) for the first 2 years and Rs. 6,400/- for the next 2 years . Industry sponsored candidates with minimum of two years working experiance at executive level is required.

External should have minimum of two years work-experience at supervisory level and such candidates have to be sponsored by the employing organisations with an undertaking that arrangements as per the requirements of and to the satisfaction of the Institute, will be made to enable the candidates to pursue the Fellow Programme.

Areas of Research

Organization Behaviour, Personnel Management, Marketing, Ergonomics, BPR, TQM, TPM, Reliability Management, Operations Research, Information Technology, SCM, Production Management, Finance & Accounting and Environmental Management. Selection for the fellow Programme will be on the basis of the following criteria: i) Academic qualifications and experience, ii) Seminar on selected areas of research and iii) Interview.
