It was founded in 1979 at the initiative of the National Dairy
Development Board and, with the support of Government of India,
Government of Gujarat and Swiss Development Co-operation.
Courses Offered
Post-Graduate Programme in Rural Management (PRM)
PGDRM is a two-year residential programme, leading to a Post-Graduate
Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM).
Eligibility
Any Graduate with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and
having 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate marks in all subjects in all
years put together at graduation can apply.
Sponsored Candidates
IRMA encourages employees of co-operatives, NGOs/voluntary agencies,
government rural development agencies and apex rural development
funding organizations to apply with sponsorship from their employers.
Sponsored candidates should hold a graduate degree in any discipline.
All eligible candidates, including sponsored candidates, will have
to appear for a written test conducted by the Institute.
Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM)
To train researchers and scholars and stimulate academic
and research work in IRMA in the field of Rural management.
Eligibility
The candidates fulfilling any of the following qualifications
and experience requirements is eligible for admission to the FPRM:
- PGDRM from IRMA or a two-year full time Post-Graduate Diploma
in Management from any recognized Indian or foreign university,
with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.60 out of 4.33 or its equivalent
and minimum two years' experience; OR
- OYP from IRMA with a GPA of 2.60 and minimum three years' experience;
OR
- Post-graduate degree in any discipline with 55% marks in aggregate
(or a GPA of 2.60 out of 4.33 or its equivalent) from any recognized
Indian or foreign university and two years' experience; OR
- M. Phil. in any discipline with 55% marks in aggregate (or
a GPA of 2.60 out of 4.33 or its equivalent) from any recognized
Indian or foreign university.
Only full time work experience in managerial cadre or research
or consultancy or teaching at degree/PG level will be considered
towards experience
