INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREST MANAGEMENT

The Indian Institute of Forest Management is a sectoral management institute, which constantly endeavors to evolve knowledge useful for the managers in the area of Forest, Environment and Natural Resources Management and allied sectors. It provides training in management and related subjects for persons from the Indian Forest Service, Forest Departments, Forest Development Corporation and Forest related industries.

Programs

Post-Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PFM)

The two-year Post Graduate Programme leading to the award of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PFM) was launched in July 1988.

Admission to the fully residential two year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) is open to graduates from all disciplines, provided he or she fulfils the eligibility criteria and passes through the selection process. Few seats are available for SAARC and NRI / Foreign Nationals/NRI sponsored students.

Eligibility: Applicants should have (a) at least a three-years bachelor's degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification, recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as eligible for post-graduate studies.

Candidates appearing for the final Degree examination are also eligible to apply, provided they complete the requirements of their graduate examination and expected to fulfil the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.

Selection Procedure: All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGP at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score are called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during April/May every year.

M. Phil

The M. Phil Level Postmasters programme in Natural Resource Management was launched in 1994.

To qualify for admission to the M.Phil. programme, candidates must have a Master's Degree or equivalent degree/diploma (recognised from a University/Institute) with high second class, i.e., 55% for general candidates and 50% for reserved category, in any subject of knowledge.

For Indian Nationals, admission to the programme is through Seminar/Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Applications for admission are invited in November/December and shortlisted candidates are called for Interview/Seminar. The Seminar and Interview are conducted in May every year.
