Management Studies
Founded in 1954, Faculty of Management studies, Delhi pioneered
the concept of management training in India. The first institute
to provide management education in the form of a part time MBA program
for professional managers, it has since then been in the forefront
of this specialized field.
Courses Offered
MBA-full time Programme
The Master of Business Administration is a two-year full-time
programme. The programme has been organized in a manner to comprise
of two semesters in each of the years. The intake of this programme
is 90 students (with additional 9 seats for international candidates).
Eligibility
a) Candidates applying for admission to first year
of MBA programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's
Degree Programme.
The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines
is as follows:
Arts, Commerce or social Sciences - 50%
Sciences - 55%
Mathematics or Statistics - 60%
Medicine, Science and Technology - 60% / CGPA of at least 6.00 in
a scale of 10.00
Or
Post Graduate Degree or 2nd Degree Examination after 10+2+3 scheme,
securing at least 60% marks
Candidates appearing for the final examination of Bachelor's / Post
Graduate Degree examinations may also apply
b) Candidates must be 20 years of age as on 1st
of October of the year of admission.
c) There is no reservation for the graduates of
Delhi University or residents of Delhi.
Admission Process
The eligible applicants will be called for a written test,
and on the basis of their performance in the test, they will be
called for an interview, an ex-tempore and a group discussion. The
candidates will be required to produce their original certificates
and mark-sheets at the time of the interview. The final list of
candidates selected to the program will be announced after conducting
all the interviews.
MBA- part time Programme
The three-year programme is designed to develop conceptual
knowledge and behavioral skills in students who continue to work
in industry, government or other organizations. This programme has
several streams of specialization. Candidates are required to complete
the course within 5 years of their admission.
The intake in this programme is 140 students.
Eligibility
Every candidate should have a bachelors degree of at least
3 years with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Relaxation on
this criterion may be made for those:
a) Who have scored more than 55% marks in aggregate
in the post graduate degree
b) 60% in a Diploma in Personnel Management/Management/Sales
and Marketing/Administrative Management of the Delhi university
conducted by the faculty prior to the implementation of this particular
scheme.
At least 3 yrs full time experience as an Executive or an Administrator
in a commercial, industrial or Govt. establishment after passing
the bachelor's degree, as on 1st August of that year. The candidate
will need to be sponsored by his/her employer.
MBA Health Care Administration
The intake in this programme is 15 students.
Doctoral Programme
Eligibility
Teachers at the University College, and schools recognized
by CBSE and Reserach assistants/ Literary Assistants/ Technical
Assistants in University of Delhi need not pay the supervision fee.
